Re: Supercat 15 and why did I ever sell it

Tnell,
I know I am somewhat late in response. Did you ever get the SC17? I am thinking of selling my SC15 to get a 17 or maybe a SC18 if the price is right.

Re: Motor Mount

Why not a gas motor? I have a 1.75HP Game fisher outboard that I was going to use on my 15 but never got the mount.

Re: Anyone sail San Deigo CA?

The last time I was out in San Diego you had to rent a storage spot to keep your boat rigged up. Best call around to see if you can find somewhere

Re: What Class Boat Is This???

I too think it's a hobie 14/16 but the skinny end is not the front.. the way i understand it these boat will only point when your flying the windward hull and just skimming it across the water and the stearn on a hobie 14/16 isn't this pointed as this is where the rudders attach.

Re: Downhaul and board positions

Mac,
When I used to have the SC19 in bigger wind I'd pull up the boards some so the boat would drift a little sideways.. This way I could drive a little deeper

Re: SC17 vs SC19 speed?

by weight i mean both crew weight and the boats weight.. since the 19 has dagger boards it bow is not as tall as the 17's. the masts are the same except the spreaders on the 19. the daggers are 5' tall and can be a pain to pull up. but it points well and is a very smooth wet ride..

Re: SC17 vs SC19 speed?

I have had both... The 19 is def. faster... And you have a lot more tramp space... The biggest difference is the weight...
