Re: Kevlar fabric tape on keels
I bring an anchor and try to leave it in the water if I can. Depending on the wind. Bill is right about sanding. When I was repairing the beam saddles on my 20 I came across Kevlar in that area. At first I didn't know what it was but figured it out. It does fuzz up when sanding. It also has a proble...

Re: Pre-Bend
Bill, This is the first time I have ever read an explanation like that. The Supercat was the first catamaran I bought, so I wasn't exposed to any other information from other boats. The SC has taught me a lot bout sailing. I look back at some of the racing I did in college and I see I had no clue to...

Re: Pre-Bend
Hey Bill, Thanks for explaining prebend. I and many others didn't understand that. I was thought it was for flattening the sail to take the power out of a sail. I wish (and maybe it does exist) this website had the ability to tell people when there are new posts. I have been quite busy lately and ha...

Re: Spinnaker Theory
Rich,
Thanks for the information. Sounds like it was an exciting race.
I've ordered a TDF from Tom and look forward to getting it. One of these days I would love to get a ride on a 27 or 30. I wish one would fit in at my club.
Thanks,
Kevin

Re: Spinnaker Theory
Thanks Bruiser. Good to hear. I'd love to see a picture of a 27 with a spinnaker. Where are you located?

Re: Spinnaker Theory
Thanks Mac. Too bad you are selling it. I am asking $10k for mine out here in Oahu after putting $19k into it. Hard to find a place to keep it though. Our club is full at the moment.

Re: Square Top vs Pin Head
Hi Bill, Regarding posting pictures. I use an Apple but I would think it is similar to using a PC. I hit the "Attachments" link, then "Add files" and then navigate through my computer to find the picture and select it. I don't type in anything. I haven't done it in a while but le...

Re: Spinnaker Theory
I finally got the opportunity to use the spinnaker. It was in about 11-13 kt winds. We used the supplied bag for launching and retrieving it. It was fun and I look forward to trying it again when i can. I have to say it was a mess of lines on my deck. I plan on purchasing a top down furler for it fr...

Re: Square Top vs Pin Head
Bill, In your locked post you mention tightening the downhaul will open the leach. I have Aquarius supplied Kevlar sails on my 20 and 22. Tom says to tighten the downhaul just enough to get the wrinkles out. I'm wondering with such a strong material does that still apply to the Kevlar sails? Thanks ...

Re: What year is my SC17 ? And hull repair issue
You can search for a post called "Refurbishing SC20" to see what I did. There is a picture of basically what Matt described when I did some repairs on my hulls.
