i am no expert but should mast rake, rudder rake and rudder toe be the only factors? Educate me please... because those are the only factors i know of.

will it depend on the cut of the spi and the sheeting point to determine whether you have a reaching spi or a down wind spi?

hey man... beaching is not too hard. normally the depth is gradual so you can depower way before you are aground. I usually check the grade before I leave the beach, pay attention to the tide and from there can come flying in, pull a u turn, release sails with 1 rudder 1/2 down and jump into the wat...

The Hobie Way of Life was the reason I got into sailing in the first place back in 1979..... I don't know what happened or when but we went from hull flying contests and evening BBQs on the beach to racing and going home.... I have been out of the scene for a few years, sold my boat, but now coming ...
