Re: Beach Cat Spinnakers
Bill I have ARC 21 #2101 that I bought from Eric Arbogast, who bought it from original owner Daniel Sassman (2001). Eye-straps on the rear-crossbar suggest it was set up for a 'Large' spinnaker, but the chute I got (good 'training wheels' for me to learn as I am a spinnaker novice) is cut for a Torn...

Re: Deck Monkey Fathers Day Weekend
Ernie, I think I still have a small butt-bucket that you could pad (if needed) to fit Kendall. Todd has keys to the house while I am in Panama if you want him to get it. Let me know and I will set it up. Great shots. Look forward to seeing the video!

Re: Lite Air SC 17 Day
Kevin Yes, there was a problem developing where the starboard hull attached to the forward crossbar. Hull actually 'folded under' the boat and we could have made it back to the beach. Then I made the mistake of furling the jib sail which in reality was keeping the hulls pointed 'forward'. She split ...

Lite Air SC 17 Day
Solo sailing my 2nd Supercat 17 on a lite air day off Texas City Dike in Galveston Bay, Texas in April of 2012. Just a few weeks before she broke in-half from too many days in 'heavy air' ... Yes, 'OK' to critique the skipper's trapping techniques .. or lack-there-of .. http://www.youtube.com/...

Re: Yet another weather helm problem....
Mac Weather helm issues have always been a mystery to me. Somedays it is to port. Other days to starboard. And then no weather helm at all .. until the mullet start running in Galveston Bay and slap the snoot out of my rudders  Wish I had an SC17 down here in Panama. Your SC17 looks Great and y...

Dyneema & Adjustable Trapeze
Upon purchasing the ARC21 from Eric Arbogast, the first thing he told me to replace was the trap lines. Sure enough, my 235 lbs snapped the port skipper's trap on our second voyage, dropping me into the drink and "fortunately" flipping the cat (I hung onto mainsheet with a death grip). Wit...

Continuous Loop Spinnaker Halyard/Retrieval
Being quite novice at flying a Spinnaker, I gathered information from Nacra and Hobie buddies as well as our own attempts at deploying the big Kite (quite successful) and then retrieving it (dismal at best). My ARC 21 is set up with a snuffer bag on a sturdy ARC Spinnaker Pole that would clearly out...

ARC 2101 Texas
Reckon it's time to make an introduction on this here cyber-colloquium of ARC/Supercat owners before all the leaves drop and baggy shorts are replaced with neoprene body-condoms. I am the proud 3rd owner of ARC 2101 (purchased from Eric Albogast of Davie, FL) and have been plundering the washing mac...
