Serious Damage Last Year

Post by nestes106 »

While on the mooring last year. My SuperCat 20 dismasted and sheared off the ball and bolt in which the mast rotates on from the forward cross member. As the mast fell it also completely destroyed gooseneck and forward portion of the boom. The photos I have of the cross member and boom are too large to upload here however upon request I would be happy to email. Im slightly lost as to the interior design on the cross member. Is it as simple as replacing the bolt or is much more complicated? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have solid beams or telescoping? Sounds like solid.

The telescoping have a 'floating' post that goes through the crossbar and connects to a wire. There is also a sleeve that the post goes through. I'm not sure how the solid beamed boats came from the factory.
