Loving my SC17!!

Post by SJBrit »

I just had my first "real" sail on my SC17 today. I've been out a few times in light winds but today we had a lovely force 4 blowing so I got to crank it up a bit. ENE wind had me beating all the way up Sarasota Bay and then a bit of a screaming reach back down again! I must say that my old Hobie instincts kicked in a few times when I saw the bow bury and made me slacken off, but after I got dialed in I just LOVED driving those bows in and letting rip! Can't wait to get out again - awesome cat!

SJBrit, and your SC17 says back to you, "it is nice to be appreciated".

Question of the day: What important structural part of all beach catamarans does the SC17 not have and does not need?

I'm guessing a dolphin striker.

You have it right , gahamby. A few years ago Marstrom took the dolphin striker system off
his A cat and claimed to be the first to produce a cat without this structure. Little
did he know that the SC17 and SC15 had preceded him by at least 20 years.
