We would like to congratulate Eric Roberts (RC-30), Bill Roberts (ARC-22), Mike Kelly (ARC-22), Mike Tierney (RC-27) and Eric Arbogast (ARC-21) along with their crew for their excellent showing during the Miami-Key Largo race last weekend.

I am finally able to post some photos, now that I am back from
Florida.

The Miami to Key Largo race was a great, almost clinically clean
operation: Well prepared boats, good navigation, crews in tune with
the boats (Eric Roberts, Dave Weir who has sailed many cats incl. 2
years Playstation and me on the SC-30, Bill Roberts and frequent crew
Christian Dam on the SC-22) and a good wind which allowed flat-out
trapezing all the way. At no time was the RC-30's coming first in in
any danger.

Plus, it was really nice that to see the two SC-22 were just as easily
able to distance the rest of the fleet. The three first boats in were
all designed by Bill Roberts. What can you wish more?

And of the only five Roberts designs which competed in the ca. 150
boat fleet, four were in the top five. In the end, Bill Roberts beat
Mike Kelley's SC-22 by about a minute, and both boats beat the RC-30
ever so narrowly on corrected time. What a great day!

Cheers from Switzerland,

Claas

This is the RC-30 approaching the Card Sound Bridge. Note that after 2 hours and 11 minutes of racing only two competitors are visible on the horizon: The two SC-22s. Just twenty seconds earlier the RC-30 had still been going at 20.0 knots.

Number four at the bridge (and fifth overall) was Mike Tierney's RC-27. As a fellow RC-27 owner, I think he should have been there right with the RC-30... :-)
