Eric you have any other picture of you actually using it...much better at visual learning. Where exactly do the red/white lines fasten? Why are there carabineers on the lines...you say there are two of them on your material list, but there seems to be four in the picture...or are two of them stainle...

Eric2101 how about posting the pictures of your jin pole?

Hi Eric Saw a couple of photos of your jinpole mast stepper on Catsailor and wondered if you could post them over here...with a detailed discription of what you used (material list) and how well it worked? This is the first time I could see any real detail in a photo as to what is going on. Thanks, ...

Tom

Thanks for clarifying the gelcoat/paint issue for me...I am glad to hear my boat is laminated with vinyl ester resin and not polyester. That I wasn't aware of ...what a nice "gift" :D ...LOL...learn something new every day.

Tom Thanks for the reply...I always "assumed" it has a gel coat finish, now you have me wondering...Just to make sure I understand you correctly….were all Supercat 17's back in 1994 built with a Gelcoat finish? Or were some painted?...and if some were painted, what is the best way to test ...

Matt,

So you say that all ARC/RC hulls built since 1990 are epoxy…what about the Supercat series? My Supercat 17 is a 1994…was that a polyester laminate /gelcoat or Epoxy laminate/paint? Thanks…

Bob

I am in the process of re-gelcoating an entire 24' powerboat to avoid the exact same thing you are experiencing...Even Awlgrip...the undisputed king of marine paints... will form blisters if left in constant contact with water (or something wet like carpeted trailer bunks) for an extended period of ...

Aluminum tube to replace bottom batten on a SC 17?

Matt…would there be any advantage to replace the bottom batten on my SC 17 main with an aluminum tube? If so what diameter and wall thickness? 6061-T-6?

Thanks,
Bob

Charlie Don't have the spin set up on my SC17...would love to have one...but I don't have one at this time. As far a single handed goes...I love it...it seems to sit the single/double line perfectly...not too big for single , not too small for double…I sailed my old SC 17 a lot more single than doub...

Matt...Any plans to include an on-line parts catalog for the various boats you have manufactured over the years? You seem to support all of your older boats with parts and information. It irritates me to no end when someone on the Cat forum says that you can't get parts for Supercats or that you guy...
