SC17 ruddercasting problems.
I have a SC17 witch is a delight to sail. the only problem is the enormous amounts of weatherhelm. so I tried the usual tricks, raking the mast more forward. so now when I'm sailing the boat like you should there is no rake what so ever. faired the rudders. I even tried a bigger (Prindle 18) jib ...

Thanks for the replies.
I will do the repairs this winter, document it as well.
The plastic ones, are they larger? I have about 3 mm wiggle on the gudgeons.
Is there something else i can do about that?
By the way, anybody ever trapezed from the forward tip of the hull on a supercat?

I am loving the sc17.
So much that it gets sailed about 3-4 times a week.
yesterday i noticed damage on my portside transom.

I have heard horror stories of supercats with ripped out transoms.
What is the best way to tackle this problem?
Are there any backing plates, if yes are they attached ...

SC17 jib block attachment
The previous owner of our Supercat 17 (1982, with new tramp and traveller upgrade) installed a new jib system complete with a new smaller jib, I think the jib is the selftacking jib size as it doesn't even reach the mast.
But there is no selftacking hardware, so none of the advantages of selftacking ...
