stepping the SC17 Mast discussions
I'm on my 2nd SC17 and since I started sailing them one thing has changed, I'm over 40 years older now and the challenges to step the mast have not changed. I manufactured a gin pole however flawed and it remains that physically muscle stepping remained a better out come than tying my trapeze lines ...

Re: Is It Too Windy?
I really liked this video, its very apparent Tom you are a seasoned Pro. :D
Rather ballsey and reminds me of my 20's.
I prefer 12 to 18 mph these days (age 65), I'm still thinking of the fun I had yesterday. These boats are the best, now on #2 thanks to Tom Haberman for finding me a beauty ...

What size cat trax needed for a SC17
It turns out with a lack of public launch where I live I now need to purchase a set of Cat Trax.
What size Cat Trax would I need for a SC17.
I measured from center of hull to hull and come up with 83'', so that seems to me to be 7'.
I plan on buying ones with cradles.

Re: Recent purchase SC17, Jib sheet issues, help!
Matt,
thanks for the quick reply.
No pictures unfortunately I was too anxious to sail vs obtaining pics.
Second sail was more successful I gather because I believe I attached the foot at its lowest point.
There is two attachment options on the jib clew area, the lower and forward one has a rope ...

Recent purchase SC17, Jib sheet issues, help!
A recent purchase of SC17 and operation under 10 mph winds produced luft and flapping in the bottom of my jib sheet.
Yes I felt like an amateur as back many moons ago when I owned my first SC17 this was not a problem, some items changed and different vs my first
SC17, like this one has a roller ...
