Re: Square Top vs Pin Head
Hi Bill, Regarding posting pictures. I use an Apple but I would think it is similar to using a PC. I hit the "Attachments" link, then "Add files" and then navigate through my computer to find the picture and select it. I don't type in anything. I haven't done it in a while but le...

Re: Spinnaker Theory
I finally got the opportunity to use the spinnaker. It was in about 11-13 kt winds. We used the supplied bag for launching and retrieving it. It was fun and I look forward to trying it again when i can. I have to say it was a mess of lines on my deck. I plan on purchasing a top down furler for it fr...

Re: Square Top vs Pin Head
Bill, In your locked post you mention tightening the downhaul will open the leach. I have Aquarius supplied Kevlar sails on my 20 and 22. Tom says to tighten the downhaul just enough to get the wrinkles out. I'm wondering with such a strong material does that still apply to the Kevlar sails? Thanks ...

Re: What year is my SC17 ? And hull repair issue
You can search for a post called "Refurbishing SC20" to see what I did. There is a picture of basically what Matt described when I did some repairs on my hulls.

Re: Spinnaker Theory
Thanks Bill. Can't wait to try the spinnaker but it's been way too windy. Waiting for them to die down when I am home.

Re: Square Top vs Pin Head
Bill,
I don't know if you realize it but the post you put up regarding square top sails is locked and cannot be replied to. I was wondering if a small winglet like on a MD-11 at the head of the sail would stop the span wise flow and improve efficiency.

Re: Square Top vs Pin Head
It seems like they go back and forth on whether to have a pointy tip or curved tip as apposed to a fat type tip on wings. I thought one reason the WWII Spitfire was such a good airplane was because of the curved tips helped prevent span wise flow. I also thought that gliders used long aspect wings f...

Spinnaker Theory
I haven't flown any of my spinnakers yet however it has come up in discussion down at my club. People can't wait to see it up on my boat. I have never flown an asymmetric spinnaker. One thing I am being advised about is when a gust hits to turn down wind. This goes against my natural tendency to poi...

Re: Supercat 17 footage from drone
I appreciate that Mac. It's a very tiring lifestyle I have to keep up just to own an Aquarius boat. Thought some of you might want to know what I look like. lol

Re: Supercat 17 footage from drone
Nice video! I would like to get some video of my new to me 22 out here in Hawaii. I have a friend with a helicopter who will take some sometime. In the meantime I will have to settle for stills.

Re: Hobie 16
That's interesting. Do you have picture of your high wind sail? Maybe I will get one made for my 22 since the winds these days in Oahu are averaging above 15 kts.

Re: Hobie 16
Bill,
I should try my SC20 SR sail on it. Maybe I will get one of the those halyard extenders.
BTW how big of a sea anchor would you use on the 22 for righting?
