Re: Supercat 20 with Hooter!!

I sold the boat a few years ago, so I haven't had recent experience with it and I have zero experience with telescoping beams. However, I got it because I wanted the solid beams. I didn't have an expanding trailer, so I had to disassemble it every time I trailered it. It would have been nice to have...

Re: Supercat 20 with Hooter!!

No idea where to get them, but I would start with Aquarius.

I have seen a similar button set-up on F18s and A-cats. If Tom can't help you, try Performance.

Re: Supercat 20 with Hooter!!

Kevin, I don't own the boat anymore, I sold it about 2 years ago. It was Bill Robert's boat, so you may be able to find more pics from him or the new owner. The rear beam had buttons along the back and the rear of the tramp had a pole running parallel to the beam. You ran a line from the pole to the...

Supercat 20 with Hooter!!

Just found this old picture.

Re: Supercat 15 Refurb

Here's one on the course. I must have just jibed because I would never be wing-and-wing!!!

I think this is making the layline to the C mark.

Re: Supercat 15 Refurb

I have finished the boat and installed the self-tacker and I have done a few races. It is pretty fast around the cans and I'm about dead-even with Hobie 16s. I'd say the A-fleeters would beat me, but the B-fleeters and single handers are even. Down wind, I'm just as fast, but I can actually out poin...

Re: Tuning tips??

Thanks for the help. I didn't take a drop of water in the hulls, they actually had positive preassure when I pulled the plugs. I'll step the mast in the back yard and measure the rake. I think I may have a little more than 5%. I felt really fast down wind, and I could out point the Hobie 1...

Tuning tips??

Looking for a little help. I sailed my SC15 this weekend in the first distance race and had mixed results. The boat has a standard main with a self-tacking jib. My rigging was not tight, but if I would have gone down one more hole on each of the sidestays, it would have been very tight. On starboard...

Re: Help with Portsmouth - Supercat 15

This is what we (our Vice Commodore) have calculated for the next race, single handed Sloop rigged:

(74.7) 78.5, 77.8, 75.1, 72.6

This means the single handed Hobie 16s owe me time

Re: Help with Portsmouth - Supercat 15

Thanks!

I assumed the Sloop rig was a single hand number because I thought the 15 uni was a single hander. I'll just have to calculate that adjustment as well.

Can we get an official factory number for the adjustments??

Re: Rudder hardware

Those 4 black pieces are the rudder pins. Use them, They are awesome and will break before your transom gets ripped off. Don't use metal pins!!! As far as a bushing between the rudder and the housing, I went to Bed Bath & beyond and got some of their roll-up cutting boards and cut huge disks out...

Help with Portsmouth - Supercat 15

I need some help on determining a fair Portsmouth rating for my Supercat 15 sloop. It is my understanding that the 15 Uni is a 1-up boat, but the US Sailing table doesn't specify the Sloop being 1- or 2-up. I'm assuming 1-up. Since the Supercat 15 Sloop (SC152) rating is (77.0) I know it is a dead c...

VIN and Hull number question

Matt,

I am working on getting insurance for my 15 and the VIN is a little worn--is there a zero or 'O' after the 'I'?? Can you decipher the number as well?

SCIO1134L889

Can you decipher the hull numbers, too?

15PLH9092
15SCH8046

Thanks!
