Re: Mast tang for SC15
I switched the old single hole hound on mine out for the newer 2 holed one and was happy with it. Would a H18 hound fit a SC mast? When possible I go through Tom to get the parts made for our boats, just my opinion....

Re: 19 for sale in my area
I'm pretty sure I've seen the ad for the boat your talking about. If its the same one I called the guy about it when I was looking for another boat. It looks like he did a really nice job on the boat, not sure why he stopped at the sails. Unfortunately you don't see a whole lot of used 19 sails out ...

Re: Supercat ARC RC Target Races
I think it would be pretty cool to go to a regatta where there were some of our boats. We did Sail the Bay in Virginia Beach back in May and there were 3 SC's there, 2 15's and the 17 I brought. I think there are some other races up in that area that some SC's show up at. We have an '89 19XL right n...

Re: Replacing SS Rudder pins
Call Tom, he'll set you up, they are inexpensive. I just got new ones and they are really easy to pop off and pull the rudders/castings for trailering. If I'm going any distance I take mine off.

Re: Lite Air SC 17 Day
I've got an '84 17 in my back yard that I bought a few weeks ago, it needs some parts though. Have some extra sails as well. I know where another one is that would complete it.

Re: Lite Air SC 17 Day
Didn't do better much longer, we actually pitch poled it going down wind! I had told my wife earlier that we didn't need to worry about that on a SC haha. There were a lot of capsizes that day.

Re: Lite Air SC 17 Day
Thought I'd throw a picture up of our 17 at Sail the Bay in Virginia Beach this year. We sold the boat after the race, and are now about to launch an '89 SC19XL with a self tacking jib..

Re: Beach Cat Spinnakers
I thought that the newer spins were cut flatter than the older ones and reached better? If you could sail faster a little higher wouldn't that make up for not being able to go as deep? I know on the F16 I race when the wind picks up we downhaul the main more which flattens the sail, depowering the b...

Could this possibly be it? It was in a picture Tom sent me on another subject.

Re: Yet another weather helm problem....
It is present on both tacks. Am I correct to assume that the rudders should not move at all when locked down? I'm hoping the new plastic rollers will solve that issue. The notches on the rudder heads show no wear. If the new rollers don't tighten the slop up, what would be the best way to do it? May...

Re: Yet another weather helm problem....
I wish that was my lake front haha. Our 'saling club' shelter is located there. Does anyone know of a way to check of the rudders have become flawed? Tom mentioned that the heat can warp them and even make a big swell on one side. Mine seem true to the eye but I've read that it doesn't have to be mu...

Yet another weather helm problem....
Trying to resolve this weather helm problem on my SC17. Here's what I've done so far after talking with Tom.... I replaced my tiller crossbar with a new one from Aquarius and have the toe in set to 1/8". I've pulled my rudders and the pivot holes don't appear to be ovaled. (Picture below) My ne...

Re: Mast base SC20
I thought all of the 20's had 'floating strikers', the one I had did anyway. Mine was a telescoping beamed boat. Seems that I've seen pictures of solid beam boat that had the rod going thought the beam. I could very well be wrong though!

Re: SC17 jib sail
I don't really have anything to trade. I ended up finding a set of Mylar sails with a square top main, but wouldn't mind picking up a jib to have a complete set of back up sails if the price was right.
