Re: Slightly obscure SC17 Righting Question

Congratulations, you'll love the 17 much better than the H16. Keep the Lee bow way down and it'll go. Looks like you got a nice one too, did you get the spinnaker as well? Where are you located? When I've righted mine I've never had the issue with it going back over, I think extending the shrouds fo...

Re: SC 20 tuning

I'd sure like to see a picture of your boat with the seats! Where are you located? To help with the tuning what mast do you have? Standard or Tall Rig. When you say everything is at its most slack position, what are you referring to? I'm assuming you are taking about the diamond wires although if yo...

Re: folding 22, 27

Why not look into tilting trailers? I've often thought I'd like to have my 20 on one so I could take it places. I know it's been done before, I have the pictures! I almost bought this boat a few years back. The seller said it was road legal amd that he trailered it extensively. He stated his set up ...

Re: Race to Alaska

Looks like the ARC 22 came in second in the qualifying leg of The R2AK about a minute behind the first place boat. I read a comment that the 22 may have gotten started late, so they are looking good.

Re: Race to Alaska

I remember seeing that 20 for sale in the northern region a while back. I thought read somewhere that an ARC 22 was doing it, I believe it is the last team, Freeburd. I believe they bought that carbon 22 that is for sale and are using it. I could be wrong on this, can't find where I read it. Tripp B...

Rudder lock/unlock problems

I've had problems getting my rudders up and down this week. They worked fine on my 20 at the lake but have harassed me here at the beach on my 17. I pulled the rudders and castings off of the 20 and put them on the 17 because I was having some rudder issues with my 17's set. I pushed off into the su...

Re: Upgraded SC-15 Questions

The self tacking kit is really nice if you single hand a lot, or even if you don't (my wife loves self tacking jibs). You can get the stuff all figured out from Tom and it's a pretty easy install. As for the downhaul. I had a 4:1 on the 17 I robbed off of the 20, but went to a 6:1 when I upgraded to...
