Re: Great sail, but bad sail shape :(

My recommendation is to trade or buy an ARC21. This boat will never pitch even if you try.... I have buried the lee hull to the beam in 20 plus and still come out the winner. Conversly, in light air it is a hired killer. 8 to 12 knots and you will smoke the fleet.

Re: Tiller Crossbar

The tiller crossbar on the ARC 21 is a 3 piece assmbly. AS seen below.
---------=====---------

The 2 outer peices slide into the middle peice and are held into place with stainless set screws. This arrangement gives you room to calibrate your toe.

the gelcoat looks excellent! Did you have paint originally or was it always gel coat?

It is always a pleasure making the call to Aquarius for parts, service or advice. These guys are Proffesionals.

Re: Boltrope Main Beam & self tacking setup

Yep, roll tack works great with a self tacker. I find that the straight track actually adds tension as the wind increases, similar to sheeting the jib.

Re: Mast Rake on SC19

I am not sure but I think that the shared lift concept is "extremely limited", not implemented on any boats other than an ARC 21 or 2.

Re: Curved dagger board

Curved daggers seem to be the trend in the development classes. Figure out what caused them to curve in the first place... do some more of that... and then put in curved trunks to match. Win/win.

Re: Can you sail dead downwind faster than the wind?

I don't have any GPS data, but, I know that when sailing downwind with a spin and in the groove, it feels like you are doing 20 and there is no wind. Vacuumish. At that point you are doing at least the speed of the wind.

AMEN!
I never got this kind of support from H_B_E.

By the way... I think I placed in the top 10 in the Miami Key Largo last weekend.....! That would put the ARC 30, 27, and 21 in the top ten.

33 1/3% ARC products.

Looks great! I assume that the gudgeon is not the part that is going to go when the rudder does not give.
Please explain the engineering.

Re: Refelting the centerboard slots

When I replaced the carpet on mt ARC21, I bought the material from Aquarius and removed the old stuff with a razor and a Dremel. Th Dremel, with very light pressure, saved me a lot of time and effort.
