If you are sailing single handed, what are you doing with the other hand?

hooter vs spi
the hooter is a constant source of drag. The newer spi's are much more versitile and allow boats to sail higher angles and launch from the deck or snuffer. Spi for me.

Can you guys find a home for my 21? I'll probably never sail it again. Torn bicep, can't lift 15 lbs.

Did you sand through the original primer? I did.... you need to apply a compatible glazing putty and then reprime and paint.

Re: Solo righting a SC17
When you say "mast pointing into the wind" do you mean the tip or the face? Ideally you want the mast at 90 degrees to the wind or bows pointed into the wind. When I capsize I go sit on the tip of the bow the weathervane the boat to the 90 degree position and then get on the line.

Re: coming about
In a roll tack, the crew scoots back to the rear windward corner to lift the bows as they pass thru the center. Give the jib a second or two to fill and then send the crew over to the other side into normal sailing or racing positon. Remember to crack the main or traveler 6 to 12 inches to power it ...

Roll tack... Ease the main and move crew weight backuntil the sails fill, then resume normal positions and sheet sails.

Hi Jason,
it is hard to tell. Much depends on how well it has been maintained, the age of the sails and other gear, does it come with a trailer, sail box, cat trax, etc... Where are you located?
