Re: SuperCat 17 Hulls Leaking
The drain plugs are a common problem on old cats. On my 15 I removed the fittings, cleaned every thing up and re-bedded with 3M 5200. If the drain plugs look questionable, replace them! On the hull dings, I've used 3M vinyl ester putty, gel coat paste with white pigment and/or Marine Tex. My mast le...

Re: Rolling and storing a sail.
Gonna have to disagree. Having the sail unrolled on that little tramp is a cluster@#$%. The wind catches it. Then it's over the side between the dock and the boat. Maybe on one of your big Karillian class cruisers you have the room. Not on a 15.

Re: Rolling and storing a sail.
Kinda counterintuitive to how the sail actually goes up and down isn't it?

Re: Future Supercat 17 owner, Poplar Grove IL
Those half moon blocks should clean up pretty well. I just finished up doing mine. Start with lots of penetrating oil on the bolts. Have a couple of 3/8-16x1" hex bolts handy to keep the beams located. I re-tapped the holes and turned a die over the bolts. The inner bolts on the stern were a bi...

Re: Supercat 17 damage on the top of the hull
https://owners.aquarius-sail.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=622 I had a similar problem. The PO had dropped the mast on the port hull up forward. It resulted in the glass delaminating there at the top seam. I dried it out and re attached it. It has held since. The glass from the two halves laps...

Compression dings in hulls
In the course of cleaning and polishing the hulls I noticed a compression ding on the outboard side of the port hull up forward where I think the bulkhead is. It's rectangular in shape and vertically oriented. I've tried getting a picture but it doesn't read on camera. Is this a structural problem o...

In those conditions you would have been well served to furl the jib.

Have you tried immersing the tramp in hot water?

Re: 19 tramp install pain
I like the vinegar as a cleaning agent. Perhaps take a drift pin and tap it into the feed end of the track.

Re: 19 tramp install pain
I like running a bit of Scotch Brite pad dipped in white vinegar through the tracks. Consider soaking the tramp in hot water. Lube the tracks with soap.
