Re: Supercat 15 Refurb
Thanks! The hulls were in pretty good shape, except for a few dings, scratches. There were some stress dimples on the sides of the hulls under the front beam, but the hulls were solid, so I filled them to make them smooth. I sanded the hulls and had a friend spray two coats of gel on, then I sanded ...

Hi, I'm also in Va Beach. I think I saw your boat on the beach near Oak or Maple. If you would like to sell it, please let me know. I have a Supercat 17 and would like to downsize a little. I'd be interested in a trade if you would like to upsize a little. I also have a good mast for your boat. Your...

Thom, There is a great drawing in the ARC22 owners manual. I have the same set-up on my SC20 and I like it, but it seems like there is a lot of friction and the lines don't let out easily. I have a custom tramp that has a zippered bag along the entire middle that covers the tramp and jib lines. Howe...

If it helps any, I got the sail for Jason's 19 from the overstock section on Aquarius' website. The bottom pocket is enlarged like the pocket on my 20, but it isn't nearly as large. If he puts a tube in the bottom pocket, would he need an end piece and beefier batten pocket protector to support the ...

Steve, I think my friend may buy my 20 so he can still have a big boat. I had him out the other day in flat water and 15-20 mph winds. Crazy fast and fun! He's just a little shell-shocked over this incident. I think Supercats are built very well and I don't blame the problem on anything structural f...

Steve, No one was hurt, but they were a little shaken up. These two guys were the ones rescued by the Coast Guard two years ago in a 70 mph Noreaster. It is looking like I'll part the boat out for my friend, but if we could get some hulls, it would be great to have another SC in the area. Both hulls...

You can't really see it, but it collapsed on the inside and then the rest of it just ripped off. The force of the mast coming down ripped the bow tang off of the other hull! The difficult thing, or I guess what did the most damage to the rest of the boat was the keeper pin in the mast base. The mast...

SC17 carnage!
I was on this boat an hour before it broke up. It was blowing a steady 15 with gusts up to 25 and the waves were maybe a foot--nice flat water. I got off the boat and someone else got on, they went out and on the way in, they weren't pushing it at all, but the hull broke in half!

I hate to send you to a different site, but I em pretty sure Aquarius doesn't offer them. Performance catamarans makes a set for the Nacras and Prindles that would work on a Supercat with a little adapting. I believe you can order them through Murrays as well. The problem is that Performance isn't c...

I had a similar problem on one of my Hobies when I replaced a rudder. The new one didn't have the holes drilled inthe same place and wasn't raked under the boat as much. I noticed that when I was on a port tack and the new rudder was on the port side, it was fine, but on starboard, it was bad. It al...

Windward sheeting??
OK, this one is for Bill.. I just picked up a SC 17 with the wire traveler and I want to change it over to a Harken traveler on the beam. I have a track and traveler from a Sol cat that has windward sheeting capabilities. What's your take on windward sheeting--does it make any difference on a boomle...
