Mike- I flew into FWB yeaterday to take a ce class in Destin. It took 1 1/2 hours [between 11:00am to 1:30pm] to get from VPS to the Embassy Suites. It took 1hr 40 minutes [4:30pm to 6:10pm] to get back to VPS. When I walked into the airport they announced the flight to DFW was boarding. I literally...

David- Vertigo is a work of art now. Its by far one of the cleanest restorations I've seen. Don did all the prep/paint work. It takes him along time to get one done but if it is close to V's condition I will be happy. We have talked about loding both boats on the same trailer but haven't finalized p...

Hello Dave- Don Caldwell is trying to paint my FMS20 #57 presently dodging the rain, variable temps and winds. He started spraying the other day and literally had his gun freeze up. Apparently his helper mixed the paint incorrectly and ruined 2 gallons. He had to sand it all off and is starting agai...

If you're talking about FWBYC I've been there a few times during the Nationals. A bit crowded dry storage when I was there but nice. Excellent Caesar salad and cheese burgers.

Actually my beach is all grass when the lake is at near normal levels but now it sucks at best.

Hey guys- Its about 65F in Dallas. I called everyone I know but no crew here means no sailing. The lake is down and the beach is a mix of broken glass, torn metal, fish hooks, 1-2" gravel, mud and the wind is going to the northwest [expecting 15-25mph with gusts]. I cover the area where I launc...

Thanks Bill- Being as when it does blow here its usually 10-20 with strong gusts I don't think I will try it. Rick likes to talk about that sail alot but I've only heard about parts breaking. He said he had a SC20TR at one time but capsized it alot. Hard to believe anyone as tall as he is would have...

Spin pole limits

Tom made my spin pole for my 22 capable to handle a hooter. Calvert designed one that was about 450sqft but thats too big for DFW area. I have discovered the screecher for my F25c will fit the parameters of the 22. My question is how much pressure will the spin pole/bridal/mast take? The screacher h...

Mike- Do you really think limiting LOA/beam width is an "ignorance" scenario??? Why do you think the 21' LOA/8.5 beam width was adopted. To keep the 22s from taking the wins away from the advertisers/dealers. If its an open race then the scoring software should even the results out. It app...

Tradewinds coverage pics of ARC17

While waiting on an inspector to finish; I went through the pics of the Tradewinds both on the Catsailor site as well as Florida Multihull Sailor. I found three pics total on both sites. Two of which appear to be shot at the same time. Is it me or do these Florida guys appear to be boycotting the SC...

Hi Simon- Gordon says "Hello". You might consider an SC20. The winds you mentioned are similar here but not steady. Many shifts and gusts out of nowhere make this area what I would call an unpredictable heavy air area. I sailed my first SC20 singlehanded for years. It has a roller furling ...

Hello Simon- I have bought three sails from Gordon and probably will by a set for my SC20 when its finished. Every sail has been top quality. You couldn't go wrong with either boat. If you get to the states let me know if you are near DFW International in Texas . My 22 is about 20 minutes from there...

Simon Fisher

Hello Simon- I am curious as to what part of AUS you live in? I have a friend in Queensland named Gordon Myers of GM Sails. Also lost contact with "Gunslinger" who sails on the west coast. AT one time he was looking into the RC30/27. If you know how to contact him let me know. My laptop st...
