Re: Adjustable Outhaul On Mainsail

Bill, Understanding what you have explained, brings me to the next question. Is there a minimum wind speed needed to obtain relative wind? I know that in order to create relative wind, you have to adjust the angle of attack and gain boat speed, but what I'm wondering is, can relative wind be obtaine...

Re: Adjustable Outhaul On Mainsail

Bill, After studying this, I understand your explanation. My question is about this part Today with spinnakers which keep the mainsail sailing to windward when the boat is sailing off the wind or even downwind, .[/quote] I can think of a couple different possibilities, but I'd like to know the corre...

Re: glut on the market..............

Some will come and some may go, but I would not think of selling mine.
It has been a while since I could afford the time to play,
I still give it a hug as I walk by in the dark after hours/days/weeks of drudgery.

It's coming back to a love that makes it so sweet!

Re: Moss Landing Race

I have an original tramp, same color, if you need it.
It's not pretty either, but it works.
I got one from Tom and I'm very pleased.

Re: Moss Landing Race

That's cool, winning isn't everything if you have a good time. Well, we try to believe that right? :? :(

Santa Cruz and Monterey bay are beautiful this time of year. Give it a few months and it's a bit chily.
I'd love to go surfing there

Re: folding 22, 27

That's doing it myself, if adequate help was involved that time could be reduced.
I've heard that Tom and Matt can do it in about 45 minutes, but they're an exceptional team

Re: folding 22, 27

Ok, I couldn't resist, here's my two cents. First, the legal height of any motor vehicle is 13'6". So even if the boat was completely vertical with 18" of clearance under the bottom hull, it would be legal. When you tilt it to an appropriate angle and max width of 8'6" down the road y...

Surfing on a board isn't as white knuckled. It's more like wide smiling
Looks like you were going along pretty good. Nothing beats a little butt pucker

Re: ...... to be continued......... r.a.p.a.y.o.r.

Frozen solid ... I can surely attest to that. The last time I was home I grabbed my board and went to the beach, which has become a first day home ritual. The fact that it was the day after Valentine's made all the more appropriate. Surprisingly the beach was basically empty. It was a little chilly ...

A love for a boat

Love for a boat is a curious thing Sometimes you cry and sometimes you sing Alone on the water makes one feel free It's a passion that most will never see They say it's a hole in the water into which you throw money  To everyone else that might seem funny You can fall out of love and ignore it for a...

After thinking about it, the Hemingway quote could've been easily misunderstood and offend those whos achievements I respect

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

Franklin,
You explained all of it very well. Plenty of food for thought. Good luck with the house.
Thanks

Re: ...... to be continued......... r.a.p.a.y.o.r.

I truly envy people that have the ability to go sailing when they want to. We all have obligations, but to be able to change them at your will is a gift I wish I had. I have to schedule time off. Then when I get home, catch up with the backlog of necessary projects BEFORE I get to play. Not to compl...
