Re: 19 for sale in my area
This is the forum. With Aquarius, you just have to call 'em. They have the stuff. If the seller comes off the price to the tune of a set of sails you might have something.

Re: 19 for sale in my area
Well, you're in the right church. The pew you want is: http://www.aquarius-sail.com/ New sails won't be cheap. The guy to call is Tom. That asking price without sails is high. There's lots to learn in these forums. I'm real new and still learning. SCs are awesome boats. post pics if you can, that wi...

Replacing SS Rudder pins
My SC 15 has the original SS tubular rudder pins. I am told these should be replaced with plastic breakaway pins. What kind of plastic?
Is it advisable to trailer the boat with the rudders dismounted?

Re: Whats the perferred harness?
Franklin, Thanks for the reply. That harness looks like the one. The UK vendor's price converts to $127, which is a decent price. They were unable to quote shipping in advance. That may be the deal killer. I've e mailed them and the local NP rep here. We shall see. Shipping from the UK $43. That put...

Whats the perferred harness?
I've searched around and can't find any real good recommendations. What do we like for a "out for a sail in a decent wind gonna put it on before I launch kinda harness"?

Re: Beach Cat Spinnakers
That's a great question. What are the specifications for spinnakers on our various cats? I would like a light air off the wind sail for my SC15. Is there a source of information on what I need? Is this a stock item?
Thanks GH

Re: SC17 solo mast stepping
This is for informational purposes only. You raise and lower your mast at your own risk. That being out of the way. This is how I do it. On my 15 I hook the front tie down straps through the thimbles on the trap wires and tighten just a bit. I have a telescoping mast support on the trailer with a ro...

Blew off sailing for upgrades
The Aussie ring and mast hook arrived Saturday as I was leaving for work, so today was installation day. I cleaned up the mast cap and zinc chromated the inside. There was some corrosion evident inside the mast and on the inside of the cap. This was the opportunity to fix this. After having the wire...

Light air sail for SC15
I was out in some very light air the other day and wishing for a reacher/ drifter kind of sail. Search did not really point me to anything for a 15. Please advise. GH

Re: mainsail feeder
It worked great until the last 1/4 of the sail, then the amount of sail overwhelmed it and the bolt rope started jamming above the gate. I need to work with it some more so it stays tight to the mast The Harken sheave at the mast head is well worth it. It did require some filing to get it to fit. Lo...

SC 15 #315 properly dipped
I finally got her wet for real. SW 10-15 w/ gusts. I took her out of Pohick Bay and into the Potomac. This cat is truly a rocket. It's still in need of some fine tuning but damn does she go. The way the lee hull just locks in at the stripes and shoots up that bow wave is a treat to watch. I hope to ...

Re: mainsail feeder
Yes brass would be the case. Do I just keep them clean or should they be replaced?
