Can't beat that price. It's the correct one.

Re: Another Righting Thread!
Thanks Matt, Flipping is so much fun! I guess the eye straps I put on end up cutting the lacing if I step on them so I will have to figure out how to prevent that from happening. Bill, the new tramps don't have the ladder or the cutout to reach through. I kind of like the ladder though. I guess Tom ...

Re: Introduction
The traveler track does work fine but a solid traveler is better. I would concentrate on getting it sailing right now and worry about upgrades later. Are you going to keep it down at the lake? or trailer it? I was looking up your lake on Google and saw there are some mountain/hills to west. Weird th...

Re: Another Righting Thread!
Kevin I think your 50" Lindy "Drift Control" Drift Sock should work fine as our cats are no where near the weight prescribed for a 20ft boat in sizing sea anchors. However, the windage of our sails laying in the water and then being 'power-righted' may prove me wrong. I too need to f...

Re: What one book?
I just ordered the book Bill, thanks. Franklin, I hope you were able to order the correct book from Amazon because they kind of mix the two on their page, reviews for the older book and show the older title but the date of publication shows 2011. The one you want was prior to the 2011 book. Frank Ba...

Re: Another Righting Thread!
Franklin, I don't have it in front of me but I think the quality was good. I have had it for a couple of years and although I haven't pulled it out often it seems in new shape. I doubt you would ever have a problem with it. In light of Bill suggesting a 72" sea anchor, maybe I will get their la...

Re: What one book?
"High Performance Sailing" by Frank Bethwaite. Best book I have ever read and it covers about everything. Make sure it is that book not "Higher Performance Sailing" which deals more with hydro-foiling sailing.

If anything confuses me it's the multitudes of ropes. I never know which I should use or choose.

Re: The square top mainsail
Thanks for your explanations Bill. Please keep posting them. It helps our understanding of what's actually going on.
I think I asked earlier but why hasn't anyone put a small winglet on top of the mainsail (T shaped) to stop any leakage from the high pressure side to the low pressure side?

Bill,
Without calling Mr. Whilldon can you tell us what size sea anchor (or drogue?) you would recommend for a SC20? I am curious if mine is big enough.

Re: Another Righting Thread!
Glad I brougth it up! I did not use a sea anchor when I righted mine. I used the regular bottom anchor because of the circumstances but I do have this sea/drift anchor: http://www.wholesalemarine.com/lindy-drift-control-drift-sock.html I use the 50" model. I have not used this particular sea an...
