I have 55, also an '80, that was owned for the first 23 years by a great guy who raced it for 2 or 3 years and then carefully stored it, waiting for me it appears. She now sports Skip Elliot's best attempt at updating the sail plan, with squaretop main and selftacking jib in Pentex. Looks gorgeous! ...

Beam shims
Thanks for the prompt response Matt! I disconnected the aft beam on the port side (4.5" dia tube) this evening. The boat is collapsed on the trailer. Needed to disconnect both ends of the traveller cable to get the tubes to completely separate, but that was relatively easy. Had to pop off one e...

Replace telescoping beam shims
Anyone care to comment on the best way to replace the shims/bushings on the telescoping beams on the SC20? Thanks!

Hooter spin pole set up
Dan.
My pole is 14', longer than I'd prefer, mostly dictated by the Hooter luff of 28', dolphin striker was fabricated out of aluminum, fairly simple design, seems effective. I'l try to get a picture. Feel free to call. Dave

Hooter for SC 19
Dan, I'm running a Hooter on my SC 20, works fine upwind in light air, and downwind as it picks up. I too use a 2 to 1 downhaul for luff tension. Snapped a few windsurfing masts til I got the pole dialed in. My whisker stays go back to jib bridle as per Bill and Thom, and I have a double dolphin str...

sc20 spin set up
Just bought a 20 std rig, would like to add a spin to it, could use advice. Pole length? Tip height? Recommendations on kite size (luff length, sq ft)? Preferred snuffers? How high above above the hounds can I safely mount the tang for the hlyrd? Any used gear available? Thanks for the help! Dave
