Re: Hobie 16
A 15 is already a fine handful. A 17 rig on a 15 would be out of hand. The hull design ans sail plan are timeless masterpieces, all that needs to be f@#ked with are the minor hardware choices made a long time ago. That's just the fun of these boats when you're not sailing. My boat looks fast sitting...

Re: Sloppy tiller crossbar connection
Sounds like the ticket. I was figuring on a 1/4-20 bolt with a shank. Do you have a pic of your crossbar connection? How did the flexible cutting board shim work out? My starboard rudder has a lot of play in it.

Front crossbar
I got my first taste of beach catamarans on Pacific Cats in 1969. They had a crossbar all the way forward between the bows. Why did this go out of favor?

Re: Mast tang for SC15
With a two hole mast tang, what's the set up? Shrouds and for stay upper and trap wires lower?

Mast tang for SC15
What's the best upgrade for my mast tang? It's kinda crowded up there. I've been told an H-18 tang is a good one. It looks good. I am open to suggestion. GH
