ARC22 High Wind sails vs FMS 20 main

Post by thommerrill »

I bought a set of Kevlar high wind sails [Posey/Haberman design] for the ARC22 and never used them. I just laid the original FMS main over the High wind main and there is about 4" difference in Luff length between the two mainsails. Of course the square top High Wnd main is alittle larger. Does anyone use this ARC22 high wind main on their SC20?? If so was it cut down or did you go with the boomless scenario??

high wind sails

great question. i have the same type of situation. I find myself opting for the high wind sails more often as the 21 always seems to be over powered after about 15 knts wind.

Is there a boom avaiable for ARC's?

Eric,

The only Supercat that ever had a "boom" was the 20.
All of the current boats are rigged like yours with an aluminum tube for a bottom batten.
