Self tacking jib for SC-17

Hey folks, the bay is nearly melted, and I'll be sailing soon. My SC17 came rigged with a roller furling jib, and associated blocks, etc. I am thinking that I can more easily sail this rig with a self-tacking jib, and also thinking I can more easily tack this beast also! What are the thoughts here, and if I choose to go to a self-tacking setup, what rigging will I need.
