ARC -30

Post by Eric Oster »

This past Sunday I went for my first sail aboard an RC 30. Amazing doesn’t even start to describe the boat. I was most impressed by two factors, the acceleration and the control. It took relatively little wind to get the windward hull flying and the boat quickly accelerated to about 20 in winds of 10 to 14. Control was even more impressive. The 16’ beam enters into the equation and besides giving you the area of a tennis court to take friends out sailing, gives you power and stability. Enough stability that my wife, who normally starts to hyperventilate whenever a hull leaves the water, was totally calm and relaxed despite the weather hull having 2 to 4 feet of air under it for extended periods.

Try it if you ever get a chance. The RC 30 is a very civilized sailing machine. WOW!
