What one book?

Post by havliii »

I am looking for a recommendation on a good book. I already have a book titled, 'The Symmetry of Sailing.' What I am looking for is another read on the physics of sailing, any suggestions?

Thanks.

"High Performance Sailing" by Frank Bethwaite. Best book I have ever read and it covers about everything. Make sure it is that book not "Higher Performance Sailing" which deals more with hydro-foiling sailing.

I just ordered the book Bill, thanks.

Franklin, I hope you were able to order the correct book from Amazon because they kind of mix the two on their page, reviews for the older book and show the older title but the date of publication shows 2011. The one you want was prior to the 2011 book. Frank Bathwaite has since died but he was a wealth of knowledge.

If I read all the words correctly, the earlier book is not available through Amazon, and the later book is mislabeled.

Need to look elsewhere...

I got my copy about a week ago. Its very impressive amount of information...not the easiest read but so far I have learned a ton. I feel like I will need to reread much of it a couple times to have a reasonable chance to retain...its just so full of information...that is mostly new to me.

You are 100% right. I have never been able to digest all of the information. I learned a huge amount from the book though and I occasionally pull it out and read it. He was one hell of a smart guy.

I am reading the book Bill recommended and it's good too.
