Wetsuit

Post by whalerman »

Who sails in a wetsuit? This has been a COLD ugly summer in Western New York. I have a spray top that works well on some days. I'm thinking of a farmer john to keep the bottom half warm. A full wet suit seems like overkill to me, but I really don't know.

I have a shorty.....full......Spray top and a dry suit. Sailed in all of them. All depends on your cold tolerance. Keep in mind too that hyperthermia does set in faster in the water. so it is always a good idea to have some extra insulation. Mine were old triathlon wetsuits $25 a piece, flexible where you need them to be, shoulders . Don't spend a lot of money as you WILL snag and tear it. Cut the worst one off at the knees for a shorty.
