SC17 roller furling setup and other rigging questions

Post by rexicon »

Hi all - new SC17 owner and I'm still wrestling with the rigging on my roller furling jib.

Does anyone have photos of a SC17 setup - I'm having trouble figuring out where to attach the tack of the sail and the ensuing halyard thimble. It seems like I'd have to cover the whole of the stay adjuster with the sleeve of the sail and fasten the tack low down near the furler in order to have the halyard fastened at an appropriate level up the adjuster. This arrangement seems like it'd be a recipe for fraying sails.

The following link looks exactly like my furler http://store.catsailor.com/pc/viewPrd.a ... oduct=9830 Do I need to attach the tack through its eye directly to the shackle nearest the furler in the photo?

I should have taken some pics this afternoon. Next time I'm near the boat I'll snap a couple to illustrate my point.

The other questions will have to wait until I've taken some pics as they're too complicated to explain for this dopey dog tonight.
