SC15 rigging for first time

Post by Jkmacleod »

Hello there. Long time H16 person here who just picked up a SC15. I have the old typed text manual, but curious if someone has photos of the rigging to make sure we're doing it right.

I'm not sure about raising the mast, but will leave the side stays in like the H16. For the rear traveller, I think I have it figured out. But I need help with the main and the jib. If someone could send some photos or offer input that would be most helpful. thank you.

Kyle from lake superior.

Your best bet is to scour this forum's posts thoroughly. When I first got my 15 I read just about every one. A lot you can skip after a first glance. I used to have an H16. A SC15 doesn't rig quite the same. The mast is heavier by a bit. Have a friend out front on belay with the main halyard or a line on the forstay helping while you walk up the mast. If you can have the bows pointed down. Have at least one Hyfield lever open on the shrouds. If you are on a trailer keep the stern tied down! The mast will want to sway side to side. Use the trapeze wires to keep it straight.Don't let the mast rotate. That can break the base and step. Post some pics
Good luck GH
