SC 20 rigging? --- bridle wire plate; jib blocks;

Post by cxlvii »

Somehow I lost one of the screws that secures the bridle wire plate on my SC 20' starboard hull. Not sure what the inside of the boat looks like and if there is a matching plate. I'd like to replace the missing screw but am not sure what the specs are? I hate to remove the matching port screw -fear of making matters worst.

Also, any recommendations on jib blocks? Harken little fiddle 58? 60?

Cxlvii,
Is bridle wire plate you are talking about is the small rectangular plate with two holes for screws and a slot where the bridle wire tang passes through? If this is the plate you are talking about, it is only a cosmetic trim cover and the screws are just Stainless Wood or sheetmetal type. You can replace it with a similar screw, but I would suggest putting some epoxy or caulking in the hole with the screw to keep it secure.

Matt,

Thanks. That's the plate. I feel more comfortable now and will epoxy it just in case.
