I am in need of a small outboard to manage a narrow creek (1/2 mile) on a SC20. I am considering a Torqeedo, does anyone have any experience and recommendation regarding needed HP? Thanks

I had a torqueedo 1003 long shaft on my 15. It worked fine. It might struggle to push you dead to windward in a stiff breeze.

Gahamby, thanks for the information and link to the prior discussion. Sounds like the 1003 would be underpowered, the jump to a 6hp is gonna be significantly more $$$. I was hoping that a 3hp would be sufficient. Thanks again.

That's a 1003 in the picture of that Arc. I think it would get you up and down a creek no problem. If you're on open water and there's wind, sail. If you're becalmed a 1003 would get you home. Your other solution is that little Honda 4 stroke 2.5 hp for its equivalent.

I have a house on Kerr lake (Henderson)

I have camped at Kimbal Point and sailed the lake. It's a nice body of water.

If you get the chance to return to Kerr Lake let me know and I bring you a cold beer... my house is close to Kimbal point.
