Tubes for Eric Arbogast

Eric,
Your boat at 12ft wide will become a rocketship in winds of 15 knots or more. In 15 to 20knot winds your boat will do a horrizon job on any and all 20ft beach cats. Boat width is righting moment and righting moment is sail thrust and sail thrust is boatspeed.
The #1 place to get tubes, beams, for your boat is from the factory that built your boat. Aquarius Sails can supply you completely finished beams or bare tubes and you rig them out yourself. Your new front beam will require a dolphin striker post and strap.
The #2 place to get this tubing is in the yellow pages of the Miami telephone book. Always use 6061 T6 Aluminum tubing. The 6063 t5 material is only 2/3rds the strength of 6061 T6 material.

Are the 12' tubes 6061 T6? And can anyone provide me with the wall thickness needed to go to 12'.

I can find loads of 6063 but 6061 is a little more difficult. What is used by the factory for the ARC boats?

Eric,

The extrusion is the same for all ARC products.
We own the tooling and the beams are furnush to us in the raw lengths.
We machine in house and have them annodized locally.
6061-T6 is the alloy of choice.
