Installing Dagger Well Carpet

I found an easy way to install the dagger well carpet.

1. Spray the adhesive on the carpet and the well.

2. Cut two strips of wax paper to fit the carpet.

3. Fold the carpet in half with the sticky side out and put a piece of wax paper on each side leaving about an inch of the sticky nose section exposed.

4. Slide the carpet with the wax paper into the well attaching the nose section first.

5. Starting from the nose peel the paper out as you attach the carpet to the well.

It worked out pretty well for me.

When I wrote this I did not know that the recommended adhesive (3M 847) was still available. I initially could not find it and used a 3M spray-on contact cement type trim adhesive that was available to me.

I haven't used the recommended product but it looks like you just apply the product and slide in the carpet and let it harden.
