In 2010, I took six months off and sailed across the Atlantic and back (monohull - sorry). Three of us went over, one flew home (to go back to work) and then two of us sailed the boat from Lisbon back to Florida.

During our time in Europe, we met Ted and Kay, two intrepid Brits who were taking their sailboat all over the place. We ran into them a couple times and they tossed us our last line as we headed home from the Canary Islands to Florida.

Last year they sailed to the Caribbean and then this summer they sailed up the eastern coast of the US. We convinced them to fly to Minnesota and we took them up to our lake place and on a windy day I turned them loose on our Supercat 17 (something I NEVER do with newbies). They took to it like champs - here's proof!
