I think this boat wants to go sailing...

I have an old mainsheet that I use to tie the boat to the lift to prevent situations like this. I had the boat out yesterday and put it back in the lift and since the weather forecast was unremarkable, I didn't tie it back down. I would guess the wind at 40 to 50 mph at its peak.

Moral of the story - safety measures only work if used all the time.

I do wear my life jacket every time I go out - at least I take better care of me than the boat. But, lucky for us, no damage.
